In a call to “The people of the world” Dr. Masaru Emoto tells us that there is more that we can all do to help the dire situation in Japan than we may think…
I felt this a good time to share some information about Dr. Emoto’s work and some other valuable facts I wrote about water in Chapter Twenty-Four, DO DRINK THE WATER, in my book, Soul-Full Eating: A (Delicious!) Path to Higher Consciousness.
DO DRINK THE WATER
AS PART OF MY WORK, I lead Miracle Journey Tours to sacred places all over the world. Over the past few years, we’ve visited some astounding sites in which the powerful energies present were amplified by the presence of water. In Lourdes, France, the healing waters have been flowing ever since a young girl, Bernadette, saw an apparition of the Divine Mother. This mystical figure told her to dig in an area of the dirt from which a spring of healing water began to flow. Since then, it has become one of the most visited places on earth, with more than 4 million people from all corners of the planet making pilgrimages there each year to drink and immerse themselves in the water with the intention of healing their bodies and connecting with the Divine.
In Avebury, England, there is the Chalice Well, which is fed by two springs of “living water”—one “red” with iron and the other “white” with calcium. Is it coincidence that this sacred locale is also the place where the Holy Grail is said to have been taken after it left the Holy Land? While in England, I heard there is scarcely a well of consequence that has not been solemnly dedicated to some saint.
In Brazil, waterfalls abound with delightful little energy orbs of Light evident to the trained naked eye and visible on film. There, a group of us was also touched by an amazing healer, John of God, and within “The Casa,” we drank blessed holy water to open us up to grace and facilitate healing. In India, I’ve watched village women and young girls fill their jugs with water in the dawning light at the community-well amidst chatter and smiles. Then with agile ease, they balanced the jugs on their heads as they walked home to prepare their family’s morning meal. It is evident that this hole in the ground is the village life-spring.
To me, it’s no wonder that springs and wells of water have been greatly valued in all lands and in all ages; in some, they’ve been regarded with a feeling of veneration little, if at all, short of worship.
Interestingly, water conducts energy. When our bodies are well hydrated, we feel better physically. Moreover, on subtler levels, we are also more in sync with “the flow” of life. As a mother, I found out early on that one of the best ways to soothe an inconsolable child was to place them in water. And quite often, when one of my daughters was feeling out of sorts and tired— mentally, vitally or emotionally—just offering her a big glass of water did the trick and set her straight. Water is The Great Purifier.
Clean, fresh water is as vital to the health and survival of our bodies as it is to the survival of the planet. Our bodies, just like the earth, are made up of 65-70% water.
As I write this book, our planet is going through many changes, and water seems to be playing a powerful part in the process. Throughout the year 2005, low-lying coastal areas in various parts of the world have been affected, and in some cases devastated, by tsunamis, storms and hurricanes. Other areas have experienced unprecedented flooding due to excessive rains. Some say it’s due to changing earth cycles and global warming, and it’s quite possible that those things are having an effect. However, could it be that these changes are also due to a factor that is less scientific and measurable and more subtle? Could it be that the Soul of our planet is calling us to a greater awareness of the need of a greater energy flow in our lives?
Whether we like it or not, the tides are “turning” and we are collectively being called to wake up to love. Through these events, a silver lining has become evident; a love has begun to flow towards areas of misfortune. These tides turned a world’s focus in many areas from consumption and selfishness to compassion. They moved love into areas that had little established connection to the great flow of the rest of humanity. Then, literally overnight, a surge of goodwill poured forth to these places. Yes, water is The Great Purifier.
WATER’S MESSENGER—DR. MASARU EMOTO
Many people are now familiar with the work of an eminent scientist, Dr. Masaru Emoto. I first heard of him in 1999 when a Japanese friend showed me his book, Messages from Water. I was so impressed with the book’s images that I immediately tried to find a copy for myself and discovered that only a limited number had been published and that it was out of print. Since then, Dr. Emoto’s work has been widely recognized, and a series of his books are now available in most any bookstore.
For those of you who have not yet had the opportunity to view the miraculous images of water that Dr. Emoto and his colleagues have captured on film, here is a brief explanation of his work. However, I must tell you that one of his pictures is worth much more than a thousand words. Dr. Emoto says that he had always wondered if there were methods of discerning the different “natures” of water. After exploring several avenues, he was inspired to freeze water molecules and then observe them under a microscope. Sure enough, it worked and he began zooming in on thousands of droplets of water, obtained from sources all over the world, to capture their molecular structure on film. What he found and documented is truly amazing, pure water when crystallized becomes pure crystal—with intricate, beautiful, symmetrically configured atoms and molecules. Contaminated water showed deformed, collapsed and warped structures. His photos of water crystals obtained from the tap water of cities all over the world is significantly different than that taken from pure, glacial, spring or sacred sources.
Dr. Emoto writes: “During the photographing, we observed the crystallization process a few thousand times. Then, strangely, we came to feel and see the crystal trying to become a ‘beautiful crystal figure’ of water, and that crystal pictures carry wonderful messages… We came to understand that these crystal pictures show ‘different faces’ of water. Water, basically, is trying hard, bravely, to be ‘Clear water! I want to be clear water!’ We felt such expression coming out from the crystals of water.”
What’s even more interesting than the differences between piped municipal water and fresh glacial spring water is that Dr. Emoto states we can change the structure of water molecules with our thoughts! When they taped a negative word like “hate” or “kill” to the container holding pure water, its molecules skewed, blurred, significantly darkened, and became asymmetrical in nature. When they taped positive words like “love” and “peace,” the molecules took on the most beautiful, delicate and complex patterns—and the same happened when they prayed over the water.
If—as Dr. Emoto’s research confirms—water is so easily affected by negative and positive energy, then it only makes sense to cultivate a conscious relationship with the water you drink and use in your daily life.
This may be more important than you think. At conception, water accounts for about 95% of the fertilized egg—in other words, it is almost all water. When we reach maturity, our bodies are 70% water. So it stands to reason that water, along with sunlight and air, influences our lives more than any other factor. We live surrounded by various kinds and aspects of water every day of our life.
Dr. Emoto’s work makes it easier to comprehend what goes on with water, and all of life, at an energetic level. Water has a mind of its own—a Divine Mind—that must flow. It is its imperative, just as your blood must flow through your heart while you are alive.
WATER—NECESSARY FOR LIFE
As was stated earlier, water, sunlight and air are three things that are necessary to sustain the life of a human being. Unfortunately, studies show that 75% of Americans are clinically dehydrated. It’s no wonder if you consider the foods that are being eaten. A typically consumed fast food meal at Kentucky Fried Chicken—a drum stick and thigh, a buttermilk biscuit, corn and cole slaw—contains 0 oz. of water. The same goes for the following combo at Burger King—a chicken sandwich, french fries, a strawberry shake and an apple turnover. On the other hand, a single apple contains 3 oz. of water and a salad with lettuce, cucumber, celery, avocado, and green peppers contains 1-1/4 cups of water. A diet of fresh, whole fruits and vegetables contains large amounts of water. Given the typical fast food diet, it is even more important to replenish the fluids in our bodies—not with soft drinks or other beverages, but with pure, clean water.
